People often praise a ‘heart of gold,’ and those acts of kindness are beautiful to see. But the Bible tells us that even the most generous action, if done without love, is meaningless (1 Corinthians 13:3). The real foundation isn’t a heart of gold, it’s a heart for Jesus, because His love is the source. The truest acts of love flow from faith in Him, and because of that, love is the greatest thing that remains (1 Corinthians 13:13).
Some people see a heart of gold, and they see goodness. But what is truly there is a heart for Jesus. A truly good tree bears good fruit (Matthew 7:17), and the Lord promises to write His instructions deep within us, on our hearts (Jeremiah 31:33), so that our kindness is not just a passing virtue, but a covenant reflection of Him.
